Hunting

Our hunting area is located about 90 miles northwest of Missoula, Montana in the Clark Fork River basin, between the Cabinet and Bitterroot Mountain ranges. Our hunting district is in the Lolo National Forest.

We hunt from the lodge and do not use horses. 4×4’s are used to get to the hunting areas. Because of the terrain, hunting is done on foot with day packs. We leave in the early morning and return each evening to a nice home cooked meal served family style.

We offer outfitting and guiding services for elk, mule deer, white-tailed deer, black bear, mountain lion and upland game birds. We also have goat, sheep and moose available to those with special permits.

The cost of our hunts include all meals, lodging, guide, field care of meat and care of trophies. There is an extra charge for meals and lodging for hunters arriving early. Transportation to and from the Missoula airport is also extra.

We offer bear hunting during the spring and fall. Spring hunts run from April 15th thru May 15th and September 15th through October. Our bear hunts are five days in length.

In September and October we have archery hunting for elk and deer. The elk bugling season is at this time. We also offer combination elk/deer archery and bear firearm hunts. Rifle season for elk and deer is from late October until the end of November. These hunts are six days in length.

We personally manage all hunts, which consists of two hunters per guide. If you prefer to hunt alone, the cost is more, but will enhance the chance of success. The charge is for the hunt, if you stay less time you still pay the full amount.

We request a deposit of 1/2 of the total price of the hunt to confirm a booking. In the event of a cancellation the deposit will be forfeited. The balance is payable at the time of the hunt. No personal checks accepted.
